I think everyone in America was expecting this one.
A Colts LB, oddly enough, recently quoted Head of Officiating Dean Blandino regarding the pre-game process of handling footballs. And – to nobody’s surprise – the League plans on adjusting the rules.
The process of handling footballs before games will change from here on in in the NFL. – Dean Blandino

Exactly how they will be changing the rules is still left unsaid.
Whether the NFL will simply distribute game balls minutes before kickoff, or if they’ll have stricter guidelines complete with inflation-checkers on the sidelines; we don’t know yet.
However, after we’ve spent the last 5 months talking about inflation, we do know that Dean Blandino and the NFL just officially made the easiest decision of their year.
They have to change football protocol before games, that’s a no brainer.
