All-star point guard John Wall was ruled out just moments before game two. In game one, Wall landed awkwardly on his left hand, which caused immense swelling.
With Wall out, the Atlanta Hawks took full advantage, tying the series at 1-1. While it’ll be easy to use Wall’s absence as an excuse, future hall of famer Paul Pierce won’t allow anyone to feel sorry for them.
“That’s our all-star starter, our best player. Of course you miss him,” Pierce said of Wall. “But we’re not going to cry foul or use that as an excuse. We got to band together collectively. Use the guys we have because we feel like we can beat them with what we have.”
After all, the Clippers defeated Houston without Chris Paul.
Wall is listed as day-to-day.
