While many people seem shocked that Tom Brady would ever be subject to the wrath of Roger Goodell, others, like Darrelle Revis, are looking at the broader picture. Revis isn’t bashing Brady, but his perspective on the impact of Deflategate is that there should be no surprise because of the Patriots’ history.
“Everybody’s blowing it up because it is Tom Brady,” Revis told the Daily News Wednesday in his first extended comments on the Deflategate fallout. “I understand that. But if (the NFL) feels he did the crime or he did something and they want to penalize them, then that’s that. (The Patriots) have a history of doing stuff. You can’t hide that.… Tom was there when they did that stuff in the past.”
Well, there you have it. We had Spygate with the Patriots, and now we have Deflategate. Revis isn’t saying anything that isn’t true, so why are the masses shocked?
