New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady declined to comment in detail Thursday about the Wells report.
Brady was joined on stage by famous interviewer Jim Gray in front of a raucously supportive audience that chanted “MVP-MVP.”

In making a short statement on the matter, Brady said this:
“We earned and achieved everything we got this year as a team,” Tom Brady says.
“We are going to keep the evening as to what it was supposed to be, however there is an elephant in the room.”
Gray was referring to the Wells report, and the crowd booed vehemently at its mention. Asked for his reaction, Brady said, “I don’t have really any reaction. It’s only been 30 hours, so I haven’t had much time to digest it, but when I do I’ll be sure to let you know what I feel about it.”
Gray said, “When will that be?”
Brady responded, “Hopefully soon, hopefully soon. There’s still a process that’s going forth right now. Whenever it happens, it happens.”
Brady continued, “I’ve dealt with a lot of things in the past … and I dealt with a lot of this before the Super Bowl. I’m very fortunate to have so many people that love me, support me.
“Certainly I accept my role and responsibility as a public figure. A lot of it you take the good with the bad. Dealing with the adversities in life, you do the best you can do.
“We’ll get through it.”
