The UFC has lost an original.
“Ultimate Fighter” season 5 competitor Corey Hill died on Thursday due to complications from fungal pneumonia. He was 36 years old.
Hill participated in the fifth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” where he competed alongside top names like Nate Diaz, Joe Lauzon and Gray Maynard.
Hill had a 1-2 record overall before suffering a broken leg in his final fight against Dale Hartt in 2008.
The UFC released this statement:
“The UFC family mourns the tragic loss of Corey Hill, who passed away on May 14 due to complications from pneumonia at the age of 36,” UFC offficials said in a statement released on Thursday. Fans will remember Corey for his time as a lightweight competitor who fought multiple times for the organization in 2008 and was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter season 5. UFC sends its condolences to the family and friends of Corey Hill.”
