The Cavaliers’ Head Coach, David Blatt, is fully aware that he would have been penalized if the referee had seen him attempt to take a timeout at the end of Game 4 on Sunday.
Luckily for Coach Blatt, he had the assistance of former pro Tyron Lue on his staff to remind him that his team didn’t have any remaining at the time.
Hoop-heads were immediately reminded of a similar incident in which Chris Webber suffered his infamous penalty for Michigan way back in the 1993 National Championship. The resulting technical foul basically clinched the loss for his team, but Webber bounced back to fulfill his destiny of becoming an NBA great and is now assisting in the broadcast booth for TNT.
Thankfully, Marv Albert had the foresight to ask Webber his thoughts regarding the missed timeout call by the ref’s during tonight’s Game 5.
Chris Webber quickly reminded Marv that he is extremely well versed in the technicalities of the rules, now; and that he had wished Tyron Lue were on his team 20 years ago.
Perfect. Just another reason why TNT is the best in the biz.
