Adrian Peterson on Why He’s Excited About Being 62nd in NFL Rankings

Mike Zimmer doesn't expect trouble from Adrian Peterson

NFL Network has started their annual top 100 players countdown and a little drama is stirring. The ranking is voted on by other NFL players and although still in the top 100, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson slipped all the way down to 62nd. This is a huge drop for AP who was ranked 4th just a year ago.

Peterson is excited that he is even still on the list. After only playing one game during the 2014-2015 season, Peterson doesn’t think any other NFL running back would have made the list after missing an entire season.

There’s not too many players in general that miss a season and his peers vote him into the top 100. You tell me if (LeSean) McCoy and other running backs (would) miss a season and you tell me if they would still be voted into the top 100?’’

Peterson without a doubt was the best and most dominant running back in 2012. He gain 2,097 which dropped to 1,266 yards in 2013, a season Peterson was hit with injuries. It will be interesting to see how Peterson plays after one year away from football.
