Much was made about Steve Kerr injecting Andre Iguodala into the starting five in game 4, which resulted in a 103-82 blowout victory. The goal was to play at a faster pace and make Cleveland’s big guys uncomfortable.
With game 5 on the horizon, many are wondering if David Blatt will counter with a lineup change of his own.
However, LeBron James answered that question for us, according to BSO’s very own Kel Dansby.
they started small
ball, but they’ve played a lot of small ball all year. It’s the luxury that Coach Kerr has with the
type of personnel that he has where he’s able to slide Draymond Green to the
five and play small. That’s a luxury of
having a guy like Draymond and having that type of personnel where he can play
that type of basketball and still be effective.
We’re going to play our game. We’ve gotten to this point by playingthe way
we play, and we’re not going to change.
We’ll make adjustments throughout the game, but we won’t change our
starting lineup.
While it may be easy to overreact and attempt to counter Golden State’s small ball approach, that would be doing Cleveland a disservice. At the end of the day, if Cleveland doesn’t shoot 4-of-27 from distance Thursday night, this series could be 3-1 in Cleveland’s favor.
Cleveland just needs their role players to knock down open shots because Golden State isn’t going to let LeBron beat them by himself.
