Muhammad Wilkerson wants to get paid, but is the jets stud defensive end really worth $100 million? Wilkerson’s running mate and fellow Jets defensive lineman, Sheldon Richardson thinks so — telling the New York Daily News that “Wilkerson is worth that Penny.”
“He’s worth that penny,” Richardson said, via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “And you know what penny I’m talking about. . . . We don’t just want J.J. Watt money. We want it all. We want Suh money. Hopefully everybody wants that type of bread in this league.”
We can all want that bread, but not many defensive lineman or Ndamukong Suh or J.J. Watt for that matter. Richardson took a gentle swipe at Gerald McCoy when judging Wilkerson’s value.
“If Gerald McCoy can get $100 million, I’m pretty sure my guy Mo Wilkerson can get $100 million,” Richardson said.
Mo should hope for $55 million, and enjoy the fruits of that. I hope Sheldon Richardson understands that it’s rare for two dominant defensive line mates to both cash out.
