Jose Aldo has been ruled out for his title fight with Conor McGregor at UFC 189, Chad Mendes will step in to fight for the interim title.

It seemed that things were trending this way, and it is now official as Aldo will have to watch UFC 189, rather than headline it.
While this is certainly disappointing after all the hype and pre-fight drama, Chad Mendes and Conor McGregor will be a heck of a fight. Really hope Aldo is able to get back in the octagon soon so we can eventually see the war with Conor.
