A man thought it would be a brilliant idea to try to smuggle weed on a plane. Out of all the hundreds and maybe thousands of candy wrappers he could’ve chosen to wrap his weed in, he decided to choose ‘Mary Jane’ candy wrappers. How fitting.
Here are the details via NY Daily News:
“The drugs were detected in a piece of checked baggage at Newark on Friday,” TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein said. “What made this one stand out was the way they were artfully concealed.”
The TSA found the pot a little after 5 p.m. Friday as the accused dope owner, 49-year-old Gregory Murphy, was preparing to board a plane, Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo said.
Murphy admitted the marijuana, which was inside a plastic baggie and wrapped in seven candy wrappers, and another baggie containing Zig-Zag rolling papers, were his, Pentangelo said.
I really don’t understand why people think they will get away with smuggling drugs through an airport. The way TSA had been cracking down on everyone, you would think by now these criminals would get the hint.
