Michigan State has agreed to have extend the contract of Head Coach Tom Izzo till 2021. The Score brings us the details.
The university trustees voted Wednesday to extend the head basketball coach’s contract through to June 30, 2021, according to MLive.com’s Kyle Feldscher. The trustees also voted to extend the contract of athletic director Mark Hollis through to June 30, 2019, along with extending the contracts of the men’s hockey and women’s basketball coaches. Izzo received a little over $4 million in total pay last season, according to USA Today. The coach has led an impressive career at the helm of the Spartan program. As Michigan State’s all-time winningest coach, he has earned National Coach of the Year honors eight times, leading his team to one national title and seven Final Four appearances in 18 consecutive visits to the NCAA Tournament.
I have to imagine that Izzo will be Head Coach at Michigan State as long as he decides.
