Mizzou’s top defensive lineman, Harold Brantley, has been injured in a car crash. Brantley was driving with womens basketball player, Maddie Stock. The Columbia Daily Tribune reports serious injuries:
Brantley, the driver, sustained “serious” injuries in the accident, according to the highway patrol report and Stock, the passenger, sustained “minor” injuries.
The accident occurred just south of the KOMU station on U.S. Highway 63 just before 2 p.m., according to the report. Brantley’s 2000 Chrysler Concorde was traveling southbound when it went off the left side of the road.
Brantley overcorrected to the right, according to the report, and the car slid off the right side of the road, hit a guardrail and overturned. Neither Brantley nor Stock were wearing seatbelts, according to the report.
Football team spokesman Chad Moller said in a text that he does not yet have specifics about Brantley’s injuries but is “hopeful that he will be okay.”
Stock was treated and released from the hospital, according to a hospital spokeswoman. Brantley is in serious condition.
