Marc Gasol will be a free agent in the NBA in July, and many teams will be looking to go after him, such as the San Antonio Spurs.
However, don’t plan on Gasol to go to any big-market team. For all this season, people had been speculating that Gasol would head to New York and join the Knicks.
That probably won’t be happening though, via Larry Brown Sports:
The New York Knicks, who were once interested in Gasol, have apparently moved on. According to Fred Kerber of the New York Post, the Knicks “long ago gave up any hope” of being able to sign the 30-year-old.
I think Gasol ends up re-signing with the Memphis Grizzlies. He’s grown up in Memphis, which is something people don’t know or tend to forgot.
He also has no interest in joining the Los Angeles Lakers either, so Laker Nation can go ahead and quiet down about that too.
