There are various reports floating around, trying to detail why exactly Michael Sam just up left the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes.
From reports of illness, to Sam being upset about a teammate ripping him, the rumor mill is turning on what caused Sam to blow what was probably his final shot at a professional football career.
Now the Montreal Gazette is floating around the theory that Sam bounced because he knew that he would be cut, thus saving himself and the organization the embarrassment.
The latest theory concerning Sam’s departure was that he simply wasn’t good enough to make the roster, sensed this and left to save himself and the organization embarrassment. This particular scenario is gaining steam throughout the Als dressing room and, for that matter, the CFL.
I’m not sure how that works, because there was embarrassment all around, the minute it was reported that Sam had just up and returned home.
We can stop with the Sam was being black-balled theory now. He just can’t play, or doesn’t have the heart anymore.
