‘Scream’ was a classic 1996 horror film by Wes Craven that spawned three sequels up to 2011’s Scream 4 which is better left forgotten. The original remains my favorite and started a new trend in smarter horror films that mocked the clichés. The opening scene with Drew Barrymore is really iconic. MTV and Wes Craven are rebooting the franchise as a TV series and thanks to Entertainment Weekly we get a first look at the new ‘Scream’ mask. Check it out.
There were questions on whether the show would even use any mask let alone the classic ghostface look and now we get the answer. I like it. It still has some of the original with shades of Michael Myers. This will surely lead to the anti-reboot/remake crowd getting outraged but let’s give it a chance.
