Braxton Miller Says Schools ‘Reached Out Hard’ For His Services

OSU13CAL KR 3

With the multitude of options Ohio State has at it’s QB position, Braxton Miller was thought by many to be fielding offers from schools across the nation.

However, in a recent discussion with the Columbus Dispatch, Miller re-emphasizes his loyalty to the Buckeyes, even while rumors were swirling about him transferring for a better chance to see the field as a starter.

“I look on the Internet, and I see things forever on my timeline — Instagram, Twitter — that had me transferring to all types of different schools and stuff like that,” Miller told the Dispatch. “It was kind of a big controversy at the time but, you know, I had to keep my head on straight. Schools reached out, they reached out hard, and I kept my head where it needed to be, and I stayed smart with my situation.”

Miller, who’ll be returning for his fifth-year at OSU, is coming off a long recovery period from two shoulder surgeries and has been very careful in his return to the field. He was adamant about considering himself among the top athletes in the game when asked about returning to the Buckeyes:

“Absolutely. … God put me on this earth … to be an athlete, and the first thing in mind is being a quarterback, and just be smart about what I do,” Miller said. “I know who I am as a person. I know who I am as an athlete. As it stands right now, I know I am the best athlete in college football. If any competition wants to come my way, I’ve just got to be smart about things and just stay looking forward.”

One thing is for sure: OSU is absolutely loaded with talent at the QB position. Miller undoubtedly would’ve gotten many other looks around the nation, but his best chance to celebrate another championship, on his way out of college football, lies in Columbus…right where he is.
