According to Mike Klis of 9News in Denver, with the deadline less than 48 hours away, the Denver Broncos have offered Demaryius Thomas a long-term deal. The deal would pay Thomas an average of $12 million per year which would fall short of only one wide receiver, Calvin Johnson.

This deal could have a snowball effect on other signings. Dez Bryant and the Dallas Cowboys find themselves in a similar situation. It’s been rumored that both teams, Broncos and Cowboys, have been hesitant to offer long-term contracts to these two players out of fear of setting the market for wide receivers and neither team wants to overpay. Now that the Broncos appear to have folded and shown their hand, lets see how the Cowboys handle Dez Bryant’s contract after he has threatened to miss camp and regular season games if deal isn’t agreed on by Wednesday’s deadline.
