Bad hit for Adam Sandler’s pal, Rob Schneider.
Apparently somebody has recently robbed his house of a few precious items, among them the most valuable being a Willie Mays rookie card.
This is the type of memorabilia that’s irreplaceable.
Schneider probably planned on keeping Mays’ rookie card for as long as he possibly could, given it’s enormous value. Via The Score,
Thieves made off with his wife’s diamond ring, a Cartier watch, and a 1951 Willie Mays rookie card valued at $175,000, according to TMZ.
Schneider is reportedly an avid collector of old baseball cards, and TMZ notes that the Mays card is so rare, it may be difficult to resell.
The person who stole the card will more than likely be unable to sell it to any reputable collector; meaning they’ll probably hold on to it for a while before they can cash in, and even then they might still get caught just due to how rare this card is.
Again, that’s a tough pill to swallow for Rob Schneider; or for any collector in the country who may experience a similar situation.
