The recent news of Roger Goodell upholding the four game suspension for New England Patriots quarteback Tom Brady will affect the start of the season for the defending Super Bowl champions.
Garoppolo was asked if he has thought about starting Week 1 and he responded smartly.
“We’re not really looking that far ahead. I don’t think anyone is. It’s the first day of training camp, got with the guys and it felt good to get out here with all of them.”
The Patriots selected Garropolo as a 2014 second round selection from Eastern Illinois the alma matter of Dallas Cowboys superstar Tony Romo. Instead of playing in garbage time and been giving the reigns for the start of the season, Garropolo has a different outlook on this season.
“This year it’s completely different and I’ve got different goals,” Garoppolo said.”
If the Patriots could split the four games with Brady out, would be the realistic goal for essentially a rookie quarterback.
Will see how Garoppolo handles the his first taste of pressure come NFL preseason.
