Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest basketball players of all time. His skill, determination, and passion for the game is unmatched by many. Kobe grew up as a huge Michael Jordan fan and has admitted that he has patterned his game after MJ. Kobe has the amazing scoring ability, the championship pedigree and the killer mentality like MJ but there is one thing he doesn’t have that he wishes he did, bigger hands.
“Physically if I could change one thing … the one thing that Michael Jordan had, some of the other players (I played with) had, is massive hands. I have big hands but their hands were huge,” Bryant told attendees at his annual basketball camp in Santa Barbara, Calif., according to KobeTeam.com. “It means you could grab the basketball, pick up the basketball, and hold it, and control it in the paint. Which is something I had to work extremely hard at, with my forearms, things like that. If I had to one thing, change one thing, I would have bigger hands.”
Despite the difference in hand size, Kobe has done just fine during his 18-year career. He has 5-NBA championships, 2-scoring titles and 17-All Star appearances just to name a few of his accolades. Who knows how much larger hands could have effected Kobe’s game.
