Often times when you react out of emotion, you find yourself backed into a corner with your foot in your mouth. Orlando Scandrick of the Dallas Cowboys finds himself in that corner after having harsh words for ex-girlfriend and reality star Draya Michele. Scandrick announced earlier this week that the engagement with Draya was off and that the whole proposal was a “poor decision.”
After having sometime to let things settle and grasp his emotions, Scandrick is back with more to say.
“I want to apologize for my original statement. I let my emotions fly impulsively. Draya is a great mother, works hard and I wish her nothing but the best. I still love her.”
Soon after the breakup became public, rumors started to circulate that Draya stage the engagement and purchased the ring herself. Scandrick cleared those rumblings up as well.
“I purchased the ring. I proposed. There was no cheating involved, we just couldn’t make it work.”
This is what we call “damage control” and it doesn’t come as a surprise to me. It’s what Scandrick and Draya do. To steal a line from the 1975 Stylistics’ hit they “Break Up to Make Up. The two have been very public with their relationship and have had three or four break-ups already. I give it two days max and Draya will be confessing her love for Scandrick once again.
