It’s not everyday that you can pinpoint exactly where a rap beef began but thanks to a podcast and Twitter we can trace the exact moment Joe Budden and Meek Mill began going at each other.
This all began when Joe spoke on Meek & Nicki Minaj’s relationship on his podcast, “I’ll Name This Podcast Later,” and Meek obviously wasn’t a fan of this statement.
Part of my problem with that is that Meek’s music is too hard. Meek’s music is too hard for me to look at him with this f*cking sappy f*ck sh*t. Be the hardcore guy that I’m sure she was attracted to at some point. It’s nasty. I hate everything about it. I’m glad a dark-skinned guy is behaving this way. Light-skinned n*ggas, we’re not moving like that…
Light-skinned guys, we’re used to getting the bad b*tch. He’s like this b*tch just stepped off a f*cking Mars and is the only girl. Oh my God, I just hate it all. But I do appreciate them both keeping the hope of love alive.
This statement was part of a much larger conversation and in context didn’t seem to be a jab at Meek at all but like many other things, perception is what matters. When read in print Joe’s sarcastic and dry sense of humor doesn’t come across which leads to people adding a different narrative to the comments.
Joe’s podcast co-host were quick to lend their opinions of his comments.
Other’s couldn’t make out the difference between Joe BUDDEN and Joe BIDEN:
Meek had no time to care about the context of the comments, he just released an album, and he went with the general public’s perception of the statement. That led to a pretty long Twitter rant.
