Newly acquired Houston Rockets point guard Ty Lawson was in need of a new place of residence and an exit out of the Mile High City.
Lawson wanted out of Denver so bad, he agreed to alter his guaranteed money of $13, 213, 482 million. Zach Lowe of ESPN tweeted this on his contract condition.
One more tidbit: Sources say Lawson has agreed as condition of trade to make the final year of his contract — 2016-17 — non-guaranteed.

Lawson will have added incentive to do well for the Rockets, and with the Nuggets having a disappointing year last season the former Tar Heel was third in the NBA in assists with a 9.6 average.
That will relieve NBA MVP runner up James Harden of some of the playmaking, which will give NBA teams more problems with him being more rested to close games out in the fourth.
Dwight Howard and Harden will make Lawson feel right at home and want to contend for a ring, which will also save him $13 plus million in the process.
