DeAndre Jordan has really left a sour taste in the mouths of all Dallas Mavericks fans. Jordan verbally agreed to max contact with the Mavs only to not be a man of his word and return to L.A. I’m sure everyone on the Mavs roster feel betrayed and upset as well, except maybe Wesley Matthews. Matthews was apart of the planned big off-season for the Mavs but once Jordan jumped ship, Matthews received a nice raise for his loyalty.
With DeAndre Jordan going back to the Clippers, Wes Matthews's deal with Dallas goes from 4/$57M to a max deal: 4 years, $70M, per source.

That’s a $13 million raise which could be a huge risk for the Mavericks. Matthews has had a solid 6 year career averaging a little over 14 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assist but is coming off an Achilles injury. Matthews will receive a lot of love in Dallas simply because how the DeAndre Jordan drama played. Matthews might wanna thank his agent and him a few nice gifts because $70 million over 4 years seems a little about his pay grade.
