Wesley Snipes Talks to Marvel About Blade 4

Wesley Snipes Blade

Wesley Snipes has his legal troubles behind him and is back in Hollywood doing what he loves. Snipes is at San Diego Comic Con promoting a new show, ‘The Player’ and spoke to Deadline about the possibility of there being a Blade 4 and if they could introduce Blade into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Via Deadline,

DEADLINE: Well, will you be bringing the vampire hunter back?

SNIPES: The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things. I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air.

DEADLINE: Could we see you going the ever expanding Marvel Universe in another way?

SNIPES: That’s a possibility too. I’ve always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations and I’d be nice to be a part of the family again. But if we don’t to a Blade 4 or something else with Marvel, we’ll do something else. We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting and hopefully just as successful.

Now, it is hard for me to think of anyone playing the role of Blade any better than Wesley Snipes but he may be a long ways away from that guy at this point. Yes, I would still love to see it happen but I don’t know if he could really bring that character back to it’s heights. A television series of Blade in the vein of Daredevil on Netflix would be a dope idea with someone else. I would still like to have Wesley Snipes around just cause he knows what that character embodies and he can lend some star power to it. If they can make it work with Snipes, they need to do it now before he gets any older and further from being in Blade shape. Seriously though, I don’t think Marvel would want to gamble on Snipes and when they do decide to make another Blade property, it likely won’t be starring Wesley Snipes as the titular character. It would be cool though.
