The wave of early quarterback commitments for the 2017 continued this evening as five star prospect Tate Martell of the Nevada powerhouse Bishop Gorman committed to Texas A&M this evening over USC and others.
I'm excited to announce that I'm committing to Texas A&M University. #GigEm pic.twitter.com/oA8Fhv5Yto

While there is obviously still plenty of time before guys like Martell sign on the dotted line, this is a huge pickup for the Aggies and gives them a potential five star three deep if Martell sticks come National Signing Day.
Some have tried comparing Martell to Johnny Manziel, but even he doesn’t want that comparison, and I am inclined to agree with him. Martell doesn’t play that same backyard football style that Manziel made popular at A&M, and is more inclined to use his feet only when he has to.
I think Martell is more Russell Wilson than Johnny Manziel, and if I was him that is who I would rather be when scouts, analysts and coaches make comparisons.
