CM Punk just can’t stop bad mouthing the WWE every chance he gets. This time he was talking to Rolling Stone when he spoke about the “slimy” backstage politics once again.
Via Rolling Stone,
“For the longest time [in] what I did, the competition wasn’t that clean-cut,” he reflects on his WWE tenure. “It didn’t matter if you were the best. There’s slimy backstage politics, there’s always somebody trying to undercut you. To me, there’s something romantic about just you and another guy locked inside a cage and the better man wins. In that time and space, nothing else matters. I definitely think it can be fucking scary, but I like embracing the things that scare me.” – CM Punk
CM Punk is a great wrestler and entertainer. I’ve loved plenty of what he has done, but doesn’t he understand it’s not about being “the best” it’s about writing stories. Sure, he wasn’t happy with his spot, but he was a top guy making top money. I am a little tired of him continuing to throw shade at the WWE when he should have already moved on. On another interesting note in the Rolling Stone article, it’s revealed that CM Punk refers to wife AJ Lee as “Ape”. Other than that, still no opponent or first fight update.
