Last season two great things happened to the Chicago Bulls, one being Jimmy Butler emerged as an All-Star. Two, Derrick Rose regained his health and his form.
However, the backcourt struggled to co-exist on the court or at least that’s how rumors portrayed them.
Butler spoke on the “The Waddle and Silvy Show” on ESPN 1000 on chemistry with Rose.
“I think we will. And I think we better, because the way I look at it, I don’t think either one of us is going anywhere anytime soon.”
The former Marquette Golden Eagle also said when you lose, the rumors circulate and create a rift between the duo.
“We didn’t win,” Butler said. “That’s it. When you don’t win, somebody’s got to find something to blame it on.”
This summer Butler signed a very rich 5 year, $95 million max contract with the Bulls, proving his value and wanting to stay in Chicago long term.
With new Bulls Head Coach Fred Hoiberg having both Butler and Rose for a full year in training camp will help them tremendously to try and dethrone the Eastern Conference champions the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Butler and the Bulls had a 2-1 lead on LeBron and the Cavaliers before losing three straight in the NBA Playoffs Eastern Semifinals.
