To the chagrin of many boxing fans Floyd Mayweather will be fighting Andre Berto on September 12th for his 49th and final professional fight. There’s at least one person who feels as though Floyd will be baited out of retirement and that person is Manny Pacquiao.
In a recent interview Manny Pacquiao is rehabbing hard to get a Floyd rematch next year, which would be Floyd’s 50th fight and the first under a new contract.
“I want to fight Mayweather in a rematch. I’ll be ready for that mentally and physically next year. I’ll show a better performance against him than in the first encounter,” Pacquiao said via Fightnews.com.
While many fans swore they’d never purchase another May vs Pac PPV after the one-sided affair, the Pacquiao injury adds just enough intrigue to bait the casual fan into spending money again.
If the money is right you can pretty much guarantee that Floyd Mayweather will be there.
