The last I saw of Adrien Broner he was being dominated by Shawn Porter in Las Vegas but the officials at the WBA seem to have missed that fight because BoxingScene.com is reporting that ‘The Problem’ will move back down to 144 lbs to compete for the WBA title in October:
“A deal is nearly in place for Adrien Broner to face recently-deposed champion Khabib Allakhverdiev for the now-vacant super lightweight belt that Allakhverdiev lost to Jessie Vargas last April.”
Broner is coming off of a lackluster performance against Shawn Porter in June but his star power and pre-fight antics once again land him a golden opportunity. It’s also being reported that the fight could happen in Cincinnati, Broner’s hometown, or Las Vegas. If it is booked for Cincy it’ll be a huge advantage for Broner and it’ll really show how much the boxing world favors Adrien.
Let’s see Adrien finally takes a fight seriously and lives up to his potential.
