David Stern helped push the NBA to amazing heights as commissioner, and now his supporters believe he can turn New York City around as well.
According to Richard Johnson of Page Six, friends of Stern are “urging” him to make a run at the Democratic nomination.
“He’s pretty bored,” said one source. “He’s always been interested in politics, and he’s always been interested in running for office.”
“He’s tough as nails. He’s popular with the black community,” said one associate. “New York would be lucky to have him as mayor.”
Stern, who currently is an associate at the Council on Foreign Relations, reportedly has no interest in running for Mayor or any other political office at this time.
