Report: Suns Have No Plans to Trade Unhappy Markieff Morris

This summer has proved one thing for certain Markieff Morris wants out of Phoenix.

Only thing is the Suns organization doesn’t plan to move Markieff, no matter how adamant he is of leaving.

10 Suns players are already participating in early workouts, of course Markieff was missing. Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic spoke on the dilemma going on with one of their star players.

There is no surprise that Markieff Morris is missing from that list, given his “Keef beef” with the franchise. His trade request fell on deaf ears….

The Suns need and want Morris. They would not stand much of a chance to replace him by trade. They would have no chance to replace him by free agency. They do not have an adequate existing roster option.

Reasonably, hard feelings should subside by the time he must report to Phoenix on Sept. 28. However, he was steaming six weeks after the trade when he went public to the Philadelphia Inquirer this month. Another six weeks might not help but being around his teammate friends again and meeting a respected frontcourt partner such as Chandler should help him recommit, even if Morris returns to being the quieter person he was before Marcus joined Phoenix.

The Suns made efforts of trying to bring in LaMarcus Aldridge, who eventually landed to the San Antonio Spurs. That could of rubbed Markieff the wrong way, and then shipping his brother in the same summer was the back breaker.

Head Coach Jeff Hornacek has a good backcourt in Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight, and signed a great leader in defensive force Tyson Chandler. Trading Markieff wouldn’t make sense if they want to contend for a playoff push in the Western Conference.

Markieff has said he would remain professional, but at this point when do the Suns move on ?
