The Hall Of Fame game is exciting for fans simply because it’s the first football game of the preseason. For players and coaches on the other hand, it could be more of a hassle due to the fact they are forced to play five preseason games versus the four games all other teams play. That one extra game puts players at risk of injury and has caused the Pittsburgh Steelers to lose kicker Shaun Suisham.
Suisham, 33, tore his ACL and is expected to miss the rest of the season. The injury occurred in the second half of the game during a kickoff in which Suisham tried to make a tackle. The Steelers and Suisham agreed to a four-extension in August of 2014 but will have to find a short-term replacement via free agency.
