Cam Newton had been a model athlete and has done tons of charitable work that makes him a star in the public’s eye. He’s stayed away from all legal issue and always carries a smile on his face. It’s like Cam always knows where the camera is. Those things combined with his play on the field has help him land a lead role in a new Gatorade advertisement but it’s a little different from what Cam is use to.
In this Gatorade promo, released Tuesday, Cam finds himself working on his hand, eye and foot coordination on the football field but under Australian rules. Cam trained with the Melbourne based Richmond Tigers and found it as a way to challenge his athleticism and to work on his accuracy.
“In order for us as athletes to stay on top of our game, we always have to do something to stimulate our mind, stimulate our body, to stay in shape. That’s why I’m here.”
Cam will be back on the field Sunday, American rules, as his Carolina Panthers visit he Jacksonville Jaguars.
