Doc Rivers and Paul Pierce formed a bond in Boston that will last until their dying day. Which is good, because only true friends can joke about your playing time like this.
Doc Rivers on what he expects from Paul Pierce with Clippers: “Well, hopefully make some shots when we are up 20 in the fourth quarter."

Pierce might not start every night like he did back in their heyday, but the vet will surely get more meaningful minutes than Rivers is ribbing him about here.
Clearly the pair haven’t lost any chemistry – which they’ll need if they’ll want to take the Clippers to the promised land. But much like their grind to raise Boston’s 18th banner, its going to take the entire team to buy in to the concept of playing for each other.
They were able to bring a legendary basketball city out of the doldrums and into glory once. Now, with the additions of Lance Stephenson, Josh Smith, and the soon to be 38 year old Paul Pierce; we’ll see if the pair can light the way out of the shadows cast by the Lakers and into basketball history once again.
