Michael Sam is a bit delusional when it comes to thinking that every team and league will cater to what he feels will make him a better football player.
Life is about adapting. Everything isn’t going to go your way all the time. You have to make the best out of bad situations, especially when someone is giving you an opportunity.
Michael Sam looks at things the opposite way. If the opportunity isn’t exactly to his liking, he bails out and then blames others.
Case in point.
“I never really wanted to go to the CFL, but I did it and I committed to going,” Sam said. “I want to thank the Montreal Alouettes for all they’ve done for me, but I wasn’t getting better as a football player. That was one of the main keys, I wasn’t getting better as a football player. It was a different defense, a defense I wasn’t used to, and all the stuff I learned from the Rams, the Cowboys, I thought I was losing that technique in Montreal.”
“I am a football player, a damn good one too, and I want to prove myself within this league,” Sam said. “I know that I can do this, and I can play in this league.”
Here is the thing, maybe he is a good football player, but his attitude in my opinion, not his sexuality is the reason he won’t step on an NFL field again.
