According to Detroit Pistons coach and president Stan Van Gundy, Andre Drummond will not sign an extension making him a free agent in 2016.
Van Gundy says Drummond wants to be in Detroit, but wants to be part of a competitive team. Pistons.com editor Keith Langlois tweeted on the matter.

SVG on @AndreDrummondd: "Andre wants to be here long term. He … wants us to have the flexibility to continue to add people to this team."

SVG on @AndreDrummondd's decision to wait so #Pistons get more space: "Every player says I'm all about winning. This guy's proving (it)."

Hopefully the recent signing of Reggie Jackson and drafting promising rookie Stanley Johnson appease Drummond. It’s clear winning is important to Drummond and the Pistons will need to make key additions moving forward.
The former ninth pick of the 2012 NBA Draft had a career year last year averaging 13.8 points, 13.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.
The emergence of Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond is evident, and Stan Van Gundy can ill-afford to lose him in the 2016 free agency.
