One of the biggest surprises of the 2015 NFL season is the resurgence of Arizona Cardinals running back Chris Johnson. After a disappointing 2014 campaign, CJ2K is currently ranked second in the NFL with 567 rushing yards through seven games. According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, Johnson, who was shot during a drive by that left one man dead back in March, began training at the reporter’s training facility in Los Angeles before the bullet was even removed.
“He came into our place with the bullet still in the shoulder, lodged against the nerve and his arm in a sling,” Glazer explained. “We’re like, ‘What are you doing?’ He’s like, ‘Hey, I’m here to work out. I’m ready to go. We can do lower body.’”
Johnson eventually had a procedure to have the bullet removed. Whether you’re a Cardinals fan or not, it’s hard not to root for Chris Johnson knowing what he’s been through and what it took to get back to where he is. At this point he seems like a lock for comeback player if the year.
