I know it’s only Week 5 but the Dallas Cowboys playoffs chances are slowly slipping away. It seems that the team is hit with another big injury week after week. The Cowboys are 0-2 without playmakers Dez Bryant and Tony Romo but help maybe on the way. Jerry Jones is still optimistic that his “Superman” will be able to return to the field on October 25 to face the Giants.
“Dez, of course, is Superman,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan. “I say that without a smile. He heals extraordinarily quick. His procedure went well. He’s sound with the procedure. Everything they did, by the way, the [bone] graft all that, it enhances his chance to get out there. I think he’s got a chance to do it after the bye.”
More importantly than just Dez returning, Cowboys fans hope that he can be the Dez of old and provide some instant fire power for the offense. With Brandon Weeden at quarterback and Terence Williams being the team’s best active receiver, defenses do not fear of the Cowboys offense. Adding a healthy Dez will at least make teams adjust their defense a little which could open up chances for other receivers as well as the rushing attack.
