Jim Harbaugh was one of the most sought after head coaches when he opted to not return to the San Francisco 49ers, and after mulling over several options he decided to head back to alma mater in Ann Arbor.
With more head coaching positions opening up, Harbaugh’s name is certain to come up once again, and when asked about potential NFL job openings, Harbaugh made it clear he wasn’t going to comment on them.
Here are the quotes from ESPN:
“I won’t comment on it,” Harbaugh said in a teleconference Tuesday afternoon. “It’s disrespectful to the game. I look at it as disrespectful.”
“I’m at that point, where even though you’ve done well and built some pretty nice homes, you have to do it again. You have to prove it again,” Harbaugh said. “And I’d really like to live in one permanently. That’s what I’m very hopeful for here.”
With the rebuild at Michigan going well, and it being his alma mater, I don’t think anyone expects Harbaugh to be going anywhere anytime soon.
That certainly won’t stop teams from kicking the tires on his interest levels come December, and it certainly won’t stop people from speculating on whether he will stay or go.
