After the firing of former Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin, they responded with a 38-10 blowout win against the Tennessee Titans.
Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt didn’t take kindly to the “dirty” hit by Dolphins defensive end Olivier Vernon on his quarterback Marcus Mariota.
Whisenhunt spoke on the hit that occurred during the blowout loss.
“I think it was done with the idea of trying to hurt our QB and that’s (expletive) football,” Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said after watching his prized rookie jeopardized.
Titans can ill-afford to have their projected franchise quarterback taking hits like this.

Hits like this should have the Titans offensive unit retaliating on Mariota’s behalf. Lucky for the Titans it was nothing too serious.
Vernon will be getting a hefty fine in the mail for his hit to the knee.
