It’s always a topic of discussion when a college athlete gets into trouble. Every now and then it’s good to hear about the positive impact athletes have on their community. Tario Fuller, a freshman running back at Purdue University, bought two-year old Kinley Shufflebarger a toy after overhearing her talk about her upcoming birthday which was days away.
Fuller heard the young girl talking to her mother about what toy she wanted while in a Lafayette, Indiana Target. After asking Kinley which doll was her favorite, he bought it for her and wished her a happy birthday despite never meeting the girl or her mother before. Kinley’s mother, Megan Shufflebarger, thanked him but didn’t get his name. When she got home she tracked Fuller down on Facebook, posted his picture and complimented his generosity and humility.
