Empire has had plenty of unpredictable cameos, but none more random than when North Carolina rapper Petey Pablo –famous for 2004’s “Freek-A-Leek” popped up on season two of “Empire,” playing Clyde, a role he says Terrence Howard got him as payback for a $200 debt dating back to 2005.
Some say it was a loan, while Pablo says he gave Howard the money out of the kindness of his heart. The “freek-a-Leek” emcee broke it all down during an interview with Raleigh’s WRAL, telling them that Howard forgot his wallet for the Hustle & Flow premiere, so he loaned the actor $200.
Showing you just how time works, some ten-years later Howard decided to pay back Petey by casting him on the hit FOX show.
Pablo revealed to the WRAL anchor revealed that Pablo received $15,000 for the cameo.
Aside from his cameo, and more important — Petey Pablo also wrote four songs for the “Empire” season two soundtrack, including “Snitch B***,” which he performed with Terrence Howard on the latest episode of the show.
