7 Girls Kicked Off HS Bball Team For Telling on “Touchy Feely” Coach

Salem

Seven girls were kicked off Salmen High School in Louisiana for reporting to the administration that their coach was inappropriate towards them. They said that the coach was lingering when they were getting dressed for the game and he was also touching them in a “touchy feely” way which made them uncomfortable.

The girls boycotted their next game because nothing was done against their complaint and as a result, the coach Panos Bountovinas expelled them for the team.  One of the players senior Kayla Sibley talked about the incident.

“I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE AROUND HIM ON AND OFF THE COURT BECAUSE HE WAS VERY FEELY. HAND ON THE SHOULDERS AND OTHER PLACES AND STUFF,” SIBLEY SAID. “IT MADE ME FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE. I NEVER HAD A TOUCHY-FEELY COACH BEFORE. I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE.”

The parents eventually went to the administration on the issue and the principal said the girls could be reinstated following christmas break.  It seems to be along time to take a decision on such a serious issue but hopefully with the media attention this story received, they will find out the truth behind all these allegations.
