Suspended FIFA president Sepp Blatter has had a rough year with all the corruption allegations the highest soccer organization is going through. It almost took a dramatic turn when he was hospitalized November 11th for a small emotional breakdown. Couple days after being discharged, Blatter tells us that there was nothing small about his condition.
“I was very close [to death],” he told Swiss TV channel RTS. I was among the angels singing and the devil with the fire. But it was the angels who sang…The pressure was enormous, Blatter added. If you are strong mentally, you can resist, but at some point the body says ‘no’, and here the body has reacted badly”
Blatter, who is turning 80 years old next March, has been at the reign of the FIFA for a long time, he’s under scrutiny like he has never been maybe it is time for him to listen to his body and enjoy retirement. FIFA is holding its next election on February 26th and Blatter will be able to finally turn the page and hope his legal troubles are over.
