James Harden likes to refer to himself as the modern-day Allen Iverson at times.
Harden — who admits to growing up an Iverson fan — paid ‘The Answer’ the highest tribute upon learning of his jersey retirement in Philadelphia.
“He is one of the best players, one of the best scorers I have ever watched, period,” Harden said. “He is so small but he got it done. He was a warrior.”
Harden said he learned some basketball lessons from Iverson early in his career.
“I took some of the things from him as far as how much heart he had and he was willing to compete with anybody,” he said. “He is just a great player.”
Harden took an illustrated look at the legacy of Iverson for ESPN.com, and it’s pretty cool.
