Jerry Sandusky was stripped of his Penn State pension shortly after his conviction for child molestation. The state can take the pension away if the crimes were done while Sandusky was an employee. This decision was reversed after a Commonwealth Court ruled unanimously against the original ruling.
“The board conflated the requirements that Mr. Sandusky engage in ‘work relating to’ PSU and that he engage in that work ‘for’ PSU,” wrote Judge Dan Pellegrini. “Mr. Sandusky’s performance of services that benefited PSU does not render him a PSU employee.”
Sandusky will receive his entire $4,900 a month pension including back payments and interest since the original ruling in 2012. While Sandusky will spend the rest of his life in prison on our tax dollars, he will also be getting a huge check every month. Life is crazy.
