The Lakers are traveling Tuesday to the Bay Area to try to end the Warriors winning streak and entry into the NBA record books. Following another to the Blazers, Kobe talked about his former teammate Luke Walton who is in charge of running the Warriors while Steve Kerr is still recovering from offseason surgery.
Kobe laughing said he used to tease Luke Walton: "Told him he was the next Phil (Jackson) b/c he was an average player w/ a messed up back."

If I was Luke Walton, I wouldn’t take it as a compliment but Kobe eventually shared some of the qualities that gave him an opportunity to coach the best team in the NBA.
Kobe on Luke Walton: "He always had a really brilliant mind & understanding flow & tempo & spacing & how to manage a team the right way."

Luke Walton won’t get a lot of credit for leading the Warriors to an eventual best start in NBA history with a win against the Lakers but if it happens he can proudly put it in his resume.
