According to Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com, general manager Steve Keim said that Johnson’s current one-year deal is “something we will look at.”
“Chris Johnson is just now starting to hit his stride,” Keim said on Doug and Wolf on Arizona Sports 98.7, per Urban, referencing the fact that Johnson injured his hamstring in training camp and had to work up to full speed.
Johnson has rushed for 567 yards and three touchdowns while adding five catches for another 56 yards. Only Devonta Freeman of the Atlanta Falcons has more rushing yards (621).
